Origin: It is thought that Cherry trees first originated in Asia Minor before extending into the rest of Asia and and on into Europe where the Greeks and Romans spread them throughout the Mediterranean.
Appearance: Ovoid or circular in shape with an average size of two centimeters in diameter. Cherries can span the whole range of reds, with the flesh also varying in color depending on the variety.
Taste: A succulent, juicy fruit varying in acidity and sweetness according to the variety.
Harvest: From the end of May to the middle of July.
